about us / meer oor ons

Since Tina van der Merwe acquired sole ownership of the security company, the client base has grown significantly alongside the improved and expanded service delivery. The necessary registration was completed with SIRA, and all involved parties had to meet SIRA’s training standards. Following the phasing out of the commandos, greater focus was placed on sector policing, and a well-oiled system with broad community involvement was established.

Since December 2004, BASSEK has operated on a private frequency and adopted cutting-edge technology in the field of alarm monitoring. The computer-driven system is programmed to send alerts almost instantly upon activation via mobile messages to various designated individuals. Today, Telegram is also utilized, ensuring immediate notifications to field teams, monitoring room personnel, the client, and their chosen contacts.

The alarm system includes an additional feature that enables targeted and effective assistance. When a client presses a button inside the house, BASSEK is immediately notified of the exact nature of the emergency. The computer classifies and forwards the alert instantly—whether it’s medical, crime-related, or fire-related. Furthermore, mobile applications are now used to simplify the management of alarm systems, cameras, and gate access. A panic button can also be activated directly from the app for rapid response
